Bangladesh Cricket Board has appointed Tamim Iqbal as their new ODI captain the position which got vacant after Mashrafe Mortaza stepped down from his position as Bangladeshi limited overs captain earlier this week.
Tamim Iqbal is one of the leading batsman of Bangladesh and has represented Bangladesh in 207 ODI’s, 60 Test matches and 77 T20 international matches during his 13 year international career for Bangladesh. He is currently most successful Bangladeshi batsman in International cricket in terms of runs by a batsman.

Tamim Iqbal is just days away from his 31st birthday is in spectacular batting as he amassed 310 runs in 3 matches inn recently concluded series against Zimbabwe including his career best ODI score 158 not out.
Tamim Iqbal previously led Bangladesh in 3 one day internationals against Sri Lanka in 2019 and lost all three matches and his batting form dipped to as he scored just 21 runs in 3 outings as Bangladeshi captain.
Tamim Iqbal’s first assignment as Bangladesh limited overs captain will be against Pakistan when they face Pakistan for one ODI match on April 01st, 2020.
