Big blow for Australia ahead of South Africa tour as experienced all-rounder Glenn Maxwell ruled out of Australia tour of South Africa due to elbow injury.
Seasoned all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who took break from international cricket late last year is making a comeback to international cricket after nursing his mental health issues during the break, but his lay off from international cricket is further extended as his injury might take six to eight weeks before he regain full fitness.
Glenn Maxwell showed glimpses of his abilities in recently concluded BBL 09 as he scored close to 400 runs while captaining his side Melbourne Stars to final of the Championship before losing final match. He also took 10 wickets to complete all round show during Australia’s premier T20 competition.

Glen Maxwell has been replaced by D’Arcy Short who has been in good form during the BBL 09. He scored 357 runs with 1 century and 3 fifties and also took 06 wickets with his slow left arm bowling. And he has been on the fringes of Australian line up from quite some time after representing Australia in handful of matches at international level without much success.
Australia will play three t20 matches in South Africa starting from Feb 22, 2020 followed by three one day international matches to complete the series.
